Job Description：

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

1. Architecture & Performance Services provides evaluation and deployment planning services for new/emerging products/technologies, and supports internal customers.
2. Pioneer new technologies in collaboration with Product Development and Enterprise Operational teams in a Development IT organization
3. Lead and plan new Enterprise Technology Deployments
4. Provide technical solution on performance issues escalated from Production / Test environments
5. Develop best practices and standards for Deployments and Operations
6. Work closely with Product Development on emerging products as part of the product quality improvement process

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

• You will be in a global internal IT team to: Define, design, and implement Linux OS and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

• Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data consists of an evaluation of intangibles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Individual should hold at least four years of related experience in a medium to large Linux OS distributed and computing environment.
• Individual should hold a BS in Computer Science or related field.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Senior Principal Linux OS Consulting Engineer:

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Development and Operational teams to define production deployment standards and drive standardization & new Oracle Products across the IT organization
• In Depth Hands-on System Debugging / OS Code Review
• Triage / Screen Product Bugs and interface with Development for resolution
• Support Escalations
• Review New Releases, develop Test Plans & conduct Validation Testing
• Provide guidance on optimizing performance and utilization
• Technology Management

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

1. IC4 / IC5 (5+ years senior technical experience, including hands-on/Linux OS Debugging work)
2. Strong working Solaris/Linux/OS Knowledge
3. General OS Security knowledge
4. Strong C Program debugging or Linux kernel debugging skills
5. Detailed troubleshooting skills to investigate system performance bottlenecks and bugs
6. Strong communication and documentation skills to interface across breadth of technical teams and management
7. Ability to quickly learn & research on new technologies to apply them in support of test and production deployments
8. Capability to develop technical skills/knowledge that extends across Application / Server / Storage / Network technologies to troubleshoot and provide system level guidance/solutions
9. Development Experience in OS, Storage and/or Network technology areas a plus
10. Lead with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
