一、关于本项目 About this project

| Grafflex是谁？Who is Grafflex?

Grafflex是以图像为基础进行艺术创作的韩国著名设计师及艺术家。他通过使用黑色粗线，以简洁抽象的方式重构物体表达情感，创造出了一个属于自己的原创艺术世界。

Grafflex is a famous Korean designer and artist who creates art based on images. He is creating his own original art world by reconstructing certain objects and emotions in a concise and abstract way using thick black lines.

| 关于合作 About Collaboration

QQ和Grafflex的第一个合作项目，BOLD THE QQ (BQLQ)，是基于QQ和Grafflex的独特特性创作的。(更多信息请参考第一篇玩具文章:QQ x Grafflex韩国联名手办设定揭秘)在BQLQ玩具成功后，我们计划与Grafflex进行第二次合作。此次是PUPU ALIEND热门角色PUPU与Grafflex合作，我们将Grafflex的独特风格与PUPU的活泼与快乐个性相结合，制作出了一款限量版玩具。

QQ and Grafflex's first collaboration project, BOLD THE QQ (BQLQ), was produced by utilizing the unique characteristics of QQ and Grafflex. (For more information, please refer to the first toy article: QQ x Grafflex韩国联名手办设定揭秘) After the success of BQLQ toy, we planned for the second collaboration with Grafflex. For this collaboration between Tencent's popular characters PUPU and Grafflex, we produced a limited toy combining Grafflex's unique style with dynamic and joyful personality of PUPU.

二、概念 Concept

| BOLD THE PUPU

“BOLD”是Grafflex的特征，是初次绘画的快乐，是想画就画的喜悦，是放手去做的自由。Grafflex希望每个角色的身份能够合二为一，创造出全新的作品，就像在BQLQ项目中一样，每个玩具都包含了艺术家的想法，即不把BOLD和PUPU分开创作，而是把两个不同的角色结合成一体的形象。

'BOLD' is a unique character of Grafflex, the joy of drawing for the first time, the freedom to be anything, and the willingness to draw. Just like in BQLQ project, this toy also contains the artist’s intention not to create BOLD and PUPU separately, but to make a unified image of two different characters. Grafflex hoped that each character’s identities would become one and create something completely new.

在创作中，Grafflex想给PUPU一个具有新意的形象，因为PUPU的胳膊和腿都很短，所以他将BOLD的长胳膊和长腿送给了PUPU，而BOLD是个没有面孔的角色，他便为其添上了PUPU可爱的脸，以此来弥补彼此的缺点。这个创意，让BOLD和PUPU的身体结合在了一起，由此，一个有趣的新形式玩具便诞生了。

Grafflex wanted to give PUPU a freedom in this project by giving BOLD’s long arms and legs to PUPU, who has short arms and legs. Also for this faceless BOLD character, he gave PUPU’s cute face to fill each other’s shortcomings. Through this concept, the identity of BOLD and PUPU were combined to create an interesting and new form of toy.

三、3D建模 3D Modeling

1、基本形状 Basic shape

3D建模是在概念草图的基础上进行的。我们试图通过调整手臂的角度和长度以及头部位置来找到平衡的状态，同时摆出基础的姿势。

3D modeling work was carried out based on the concept sketch. We tried to find the balanced shape by adjusting the angle and length of the arm and head position while posing roughly.

2、形状细节 Shape detail

基于角色一只手臂站在地板上的早期草图，我们设计了一个更稳定更有趣的姿势。我们测试了手臂的各种形状、位置和角度，最终找到了一种能够传达角色欢乐且灵巧的姿势。

Based on the early sketch in which the character standing on the floor with one arm, we designed the shape into a more stable and interesting pose. We tested various shapes, positions, and angles of arms, and finally found a form that could convey the flexible and pleasant feeling of the character.

这款玩具设计的一个重要元素是平衡感。由于BOLD THE PUPU是用一只手倒立在地板上的，所以必须确保这个有两条腿一只手在空中的家伙不会一碰就倒。

One of the important elements of this toy design was a sense of balance. Since BOLD THE PUPU is standing upside down on the floor with one hand, it was important to make sure that this toy with two legs and one arm in the air, did not fall easily.

最后，我们通过增加支撑地板的手的尺寸，并将空中脚的比例调整得比手的比例小，来达到平衡。在手支撑地面的情况下，尽可能地扩大角度，让重量均匀地分散在地面上。

Finally, the size of the hand supporting the floor was increased, and the scale of the feet in the air was adjusted smaller than that of the hand to make balance. In the case of hands supporting the floor, it was designed to spread the weight evenly on the floor by expanding the angle as much as possible.

在细节处理上，最终的平衡是通过调整手和脚的大小和间距，手臂和腿的厚度等来实现的。由于手臂和腿是朝上的，所以脚的尺寸必须比典型的BOLD字体小，才能保持平衡。而且我们在脸部中间画了一条中轴线，也就是玩具的中心，这样玩具的胳膊和腿就可以通过这条线来保持整体的平衡。

The details were made by adjusting the size and spacing of the hands and feet, the thickness of the arms and legs, etc. Since the arms and legs are facing upward, the size of the feet must be smaller than the typical BOLD character to maintain the balance. And we created a guideline in the middle of the face, which is in the center of the toy, so that toy's arms and legs pass through the middle point to maintain the overall balance.

3、材料和颜色 Material & Color

把形状整合好后，我们在材料和颜色上做出了多种尝试，试着找出最适合Grafflex和PUPU身份的颜色。

After the shape was organized, we conducted a material and color test which is suitable for the toy. We tried to bring out the colors that fit the identity of Grafflex and PUPU.

最后，考虑到与Grafflex的第一个合作玩具BOLD the QQ (BQLQ)的联系，我们决定BOLD the PUPU (BPLP)的颜色为黑色和黄色。而PUPU中间的脸我们决定使用透明的材质，这样BOLD的形状就可以很清楚地被看到。

Finally, we decided the color of BOLD THE PUPU (BPLP) black and yellow, considering the connection with BOLD THE QQ (BQLQ), the first collaboration toy with Grafflex. And the PUPU’s face in the middle was decided in transparent material so that the shape of BOLD can be seen well.

四、最终的玩具设计 Final Toy Design

BOLD THE PUPU在生产过程中需要特别注意玩具的平衡。除了原始版本的玩具外，我们还用木头材质做了一款特别版。

BOLD THE PUPU needed special care to balance the toy in the production process as well. In addition to the original version of toy, it is also made in wood as a special version.

五、包装和海报设计 Package & Poster Design

BOLD THE PUPU的包装是基于Grafflex的图形设计的。包装的正面是大写的BPLP(BOLD THE PUPU)字样和玩具图像的组合，我们选择白色的全息材料印刷在哑光银的背景上。同样图样的海报也被陆续印刷生产出来。

The package was created based on the graphic worked by Grafflex. A combination of capitalized BPLP(BOLD THE PUPU) typography and toy image was applied to the front of the package. The package is printed with white color and hologram material on a matte silver background. The graphic poster was also printed and produced.

透过这个作品，Grafflex想要传达快乐和自由的幸福信息给许多遭受困难的人。看着PUPU在BOLD THE PUPU上尽情地挥舞着手臂和双腿，艺术家希望人们在这艰难的时刻也能感受到片刻的自由和幸福。

Through this work, Grafflex wanted to convey a message of happiness of joy and freedom to many people suffering from difficulties. Watching PUPU enjoying his arms and legs moving freely on BOLD THE PUPU, the artist hopes that people can feel freedom and happiness for a while in this hard time.
