Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), working with more than 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and mainland of China, is committed to advancing patient service, research, and training and education to the highest quality in all major areas of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. DOVS, always “in search of excellence”, is looking for local and overseas candidates to take up positions in our clinical and research (academic, community and translational) programmes involving clinical ophthalmology, ophthalmic investigations, public education, out-reach, specific disease entities such as children eye diseases, autoimmune eye diseases, ocular surface diseases, refractive errors, ocular cancers, dry eye disease, thyroid eye diseases, glaucoma, retina diseases and genetic eye diseases

Research Assistant Professor (s) - 

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, biostatistics or relevant subject area; (ii) keen interest in research work in the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences; (iii) 2 or more years of research experience involving artificial intelligence, data science, big data analytics, or software engineering; (iv) scientific research management experience. Proven research experience with good track record in medical image data analysis and relevant experience in successful funding application are advantages.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting, coordinating and supervising research projects; (b) supervising research students and staff; (c) conducting and supervising data processing, data analysis, software design and development in research projects; (d) administrative tasks related to research; and (e) performing other departmental tasks as assigned.

Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for two to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

研究助理教授

申请人应具备（i）计算机科学、计算机工程、生物统计学或相关学科领域的博士学位；（ii） 对眼科和视觉科学领域的研究工作有浓厚的兴趣；（iii） 2 年或以上涉及人工智能、数据科学、大数据分析或软件工程的研究经验；（iv）科研管理经验。拥有成熟的研究经验，在医学图像数据分析方面有良好的往绩记录，以及成功申请资助的相关经验是优势。

职责包括（a）进行、协调和监督研究项目；（b） 监督研究生和教职员工；（c） 进行和监督研究项目的数据处理、数据分析、软件设计和开发；（d） 与研究有关的行政任务；及 （e） 执行分配的其他部门任务。

委任初期将以合约形式作出，为期两至三年，尽快开始，经良好表现及双方同意可续签。

Postdoc-

Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree, preferably obtained from a local university, in a computer science related major; (ii) proficiency in or familiarity with machine learning or deep learning related algorithms; (iii) strong programming skills of deep learning tools, e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.; (iv) experience in medical image analysis, computer vision, image processing, and deep learning algorithms; and (v) strong innovation and independent research and development ability.

Duties include (a) undertaking research and development of deep learning classification, detection, and segmentation algorithms; (b) leading algorithm team for medical image analysis projects and key technical challenges, including setting up a technical plan, providing corresponding technical guidance, tracking project progress, and evaluating project effects; (c) participating in scientific research projects and encouraging the publication of high-quality image processing papers; and (d) supervising the Research Assistants of the project.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one to two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

博士后

申请人应拥有（i）博士学位，最好是从本地大学获得的计算机科学相关专业；（ii） 熟练掌握或熟悉机器学习或深度学习相关算法；（iii）较强的深度学习工具编程技能，如 TensorFlow、PyTorch 等；（iv） 具有医学图像分析、计算机视觉、图像处理和深度学习算法方面的经验；（v）创新能力强，自主研发能力强。

职责包括（a）进行深度学习分类，检测和分割算法的研究和开发；（b）领导算法团队应对医学图像分析项目和关键技术挑战，包括制定技术方案、提供相应的技术指导、跟踪项目进度、评估项目效果等；（c）参与科研项目，鼓励发表高质量的图像处理论文；及 （d） 监督项目的研究助理。
