The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing that built India’s first supercomputer , Param, is handling the project, said Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Technology .

明年，印度就会有国产超级计算机。超级计算机是印度450亿计划的一部分，旨在把印度带入取得这一成就的精英联盟国家之列。

去年3月份，政府批准了国家超级计算计划。根据该计划，印度未来7年会造80台超级计算机。“其中一些进口，剩余的国产。第一台会在2018年8月完成”，他说。“我们正在着手如何控热。这些超级计算机的耗电成本就要大约100亿卢比。”

The new supercomputers will be kept in different institutes across the country. “A supercomputer can be used for various purposes like climate modeling, weather forecast, discoveries of drugs among others,” Sharma said.

新的超级计算机会存放在全国各研究所。“超级计算机可以应用于不同目的，比如气候模型、天气预测、药物发现之类的”目前，美国、日本、中国和欧盟等占了世界超级机器的一大部分。

We have already been building super computers like Param for years now. So the new computers must be highly sophisticated number crunchers or cyber machines with AI that can process data at speeds never thought possible. But developing sophisticated software for these giants is going to be real challenge.
