This document presents the primary concepts of Tencent Cloud Organization management, allowing you to quickly access relevant information through the following content.
The diagram below illustrates a basic organization structure with 10 accounts, divided into 4 departments under the root. Please refer to the content in this document to understand the meaning of the items in the diagram.

Root

The parent container for all accounts within the organization.
Note
Currently, only one root is supported within an organization. When creating an organization, Tencent Cloud Organization management will automatically create the root.

Organization

Create a hierarchical structure to consolidate Tencent Cloud accounts. You can centrally view and manage all accounts within your organization through the Tencent Cloud Organization Console. An organization consists of one management account and multiple member accounts. You can organize accounts using a hierarchical tree structure, with the root node at the top and departments nested under the root node. Each account can be placed directly in the root node or within one of the hierarchical departments.

Department

Nodes under the root are used to store accounts, and departments can also contain other departments. This allows you to create an inverted tree-like hierarchy, with the root node at the top, department branches extending downward, and accounts as the leaves of the tree.

Account

A standard Tencent Cloud account containing your Tencent Cloud resources.
Managing Account: The account that creates the organization is the managing account, and there is only one managing account per organization.
Member Accounts: Other accounts within the organization are referred to as member accounts. In the organization, administrators can create accounts, invite existing accounts to join the organization, remove accounts from the organization, manage invitations, and apply policies to entities within the organization (root, departments, or accounts). If an account has already joined an organization, it cannot join another organization.

Organization Invitation

The process of inviting other accounts to join your organization. Invitations can only be sent by the organization's master account and can be extended to account IDs associated with the invited account. Once the invited account accepts the invitation, it becomes a member account within the organization.
