    PNAS:睡眠时间预测大学生的第一年的成绩

    大学第一年的学业成就对于让学生走上通往长期学业和人生成功的道路至关重要,但人们对塑造大学早期学业成就的因素知之甚少。鉴于睡眠在学习和记忆中发挥的重要作用,我们在此扩展了这项工作,以评估夜间睡眠时长是否可以预测期末平均绩点(GPA)的变化。来自三所独立大学的一年级学生在他们的五项研究中提供了在冬春季学期前一个月的睡眠活动记录仪。研究结果表明,较长的早期夜间总睡眠时间预示着较高的期末GPA,即使在控制了上学期的GPA和日间睡眠后,这种效应仍然存在。具体来说,在学期初期每晚平均睡眠时间每增加一个小时,期末GPA就会增加0.07。使用睡眠阈值进行的敏感性分析也显示,与前一学期的GPA相比,每晚睡眠不足6 h是睡眠对期末GPA从有益转变为有害的时间段。值得注意的是,与GPA之间的预测性关系仅针对夜间总睡眠时长,而非睡眠的其他标志物,如学生夜间睡眠时间窗口的中点或就寝时间变异性。这些来自五项研究的发现确立了夜间睡眠时间是学业成功的一个重要因素,并强调了在大学第一年的形成期测试早期学期总睡眠时间干预的潜在价值。

In other word, if there are only color balls left on board, the player should hit the object balls in this order: yellow(2 point), green(3 point), brown(4 point), blue(5 point), pink(6 point), black(7 point), after the ball being hit into the hole, they are not get out of the hole, after no ball left on board, the game ends, the player who has the higher score wins the game. PS: red object balls never get out of the hole. So suppose Philp can continuesly hit the ball into the hole, he can get the maximun score is 12 × 1 (12 red-ball in one shoot) + 7 × 12(after hit a red ball, a black ball which was the most valuable ball should be the target) + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7(when no red ball left, make all the color ball in hole). Now, your task is to judge whether Philip should make the decision to give up when telling you the condition on board(How many object balls still left not in the hole and the other player’s score).
