如果字典中有一个被认可的动词准确地给出了说明和信息，请使用它。如果可以用词典中认可的词写出同一个句子，

优先使用批准的动词，就不要使用技术动词。

Examples:示例：

Non-STE:If youdetectbroken wires, repair them.

如果你发现电线断了，就修理一下。

STE:If youfindbroken wires, repair them.

如果你发现断了的电线，就把它们修好。

但你可以写：

STE:The security scannerdetectsmetallic objects.

安全扫描器检测金属物体。

如果必须使用技术动词，请仅使用特定动词。

不要使用一般和含糊的动词。

Example:例子：

Non-STE:Machine the holeuntil it has a diameter of 8.00 +/- 0.003 mm.

非STE：加工孔，直到其直径为8.00±0.003 mm。

STE:Ream the holeuntil it has a diameter of 8.00 +/- 0.003 mm.

STE：铰孔至直径8.00±0.003 mm。

如果不需要，不要创建技术动词。如果可能，

请使用字典中认可的简单动词和适用的技术名称。

“Clamp” is a technical name

(category 1, names in the official parts information).

Do not use “clamp” as a technical verb.

Non-STE:Clampthe cable in position.

“Grease” is a technical name

“润滑脂”是一个技术名称

(category 4, names of materials, consumables, and unwanted material).

（第4类，材料、消耗品和不需要的材料的名称）。

Do not use “grease” as a technical verb.

不要用“油脂”作为技术动词。

Non-STE:Greasethe fasteners

.非STE：润滑紧固件。

STE:Apply greaseto the fasteners.

STE：在紧固件上涂抹润滑脂。

“Wire” is a technical name

“Wire”是一个技术名称

(category 1, names in the official parts information.)

（类别1，官方零件信息中的名称）。

Do not use “wire” as a technical verb.

不要将“Wire”用作技术动词。

Non-STE:Wirethe cable to the structure.

非STE：将电缆连接到结构上。

STE:Attach the cable to the structurewith wire.

STE：用电线把电缆连接到结构上。

可以是技术动词的未经批准的词

字典中包括一些未经批准的单词，如果你能将它们归入指定的类别，它们可以是技术动词。

Examples:示例：

STE:Enter your password.

(“Respond” is a technical verb, category 4, operational language.)

（“Respond”是一个技术动词，类别4，操作语言。）

Non-STE:If the instrument fails to respond, do a test.

非STE：如果仪器没有响应，进行测试。

(“Respond” is an unapproved word that is related to different contexts.)

（“Respond”是一个未经批准的词，与不同的上下文相关）

STE:If the instrument does not operate correctly, do a test.

STE：如果仪器操作不正确，则进行测试。

在英语中，看起来相同的词在句子中并不总是有相同的功能。只使用技术动词，不作名词。

Example:例子：

Non-STE:Give the hole0.20-inch over-ream.

非STE：使孔超过铰孔0.20英寸。

STE:Ream the hole0.20 inch larger than the standard.

STE：扩孔比标准孔大0.20英寸。

但是你可以用技术动词的过去分词作形容词。同样地，你可以用一个被认可的动词的分词形式来构成一个形容词，也可以用技术动词来构成形容词。

Example:例子：

STE:Lubricatethereamed hole.

STE：润滑铰孔。

(The adjective “reamed” is the past participle of the technical verb “ream”. “Reamed hole” is a technical name.)

（形容词“reamed”是技术动词“ream”的过去分词。“铰孔”是一个技术名称。）

可以是技术动词和技术名称的单词

当您可以将同一个词放入技术动词类别和技术名称类别时，该词既可以是技术动词也可以是技术名称。

Examples in STE:STE中的示例：

Make sure that the plate is not damaged.

There are two methods to plate the ring nut (2).

使用STE字典中指定的拼写（美式英语拼写）。

Non-STE:The door is made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic.

Non-STE:Change the colour of the display. (“Colour” is British English spelling.)
