2. Host Security Billing Modes
The billing modes of Tencent Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP) are divided into Prepaid (Monthly and Yearly) and Pay-as-You-Go (postpaid). Understanding the billing modes of CWPP helps you choose the optimal billing plan. For billing details, see Purchase Guide.
Note:
Due to billing adjustments, Host Security will discontinue the Professional Version (pay-as-you-go mode) from November 30, 2023. Subsequent new purchases of the pay-as-you-go mode Professional Version will no longer be supported. Existing pay-as-you-go Professional Version orders can still be used and scaled out.
3. Getting Started
3.1 installing the host security client
The CWPP client is a security plugin provided by Tencent Cloud. The server must install this client to use CWPP services (after installation, it is basic edition protection). The CWPP client supports installation on hybrid cloud servers. For details, see Hybrid Cloud Installation Guide.
Description
Tencent Cloud Lighthouse (Lighthouse) automatically installs the CWPP Agent by default.
When purchasing CVM, ECM, or Blackstone Physical Server 1.0 (CPM), select "Security Reinforcement" to automatically install the Host Security Agent.
3.2 purchasing host security protection version
CWPP offers four versions of protection licenses to choose from. For the features in different editions, see Feature Introduction and Version Comparison.

Basic or Platinum Edition | Free, no purchase required. If the server has installed the CWPP client, it is basic edition protection. |
Inclusive Edition (Lightweight Application Server only) | Monthly Subscription: 10 CNY/Month You can click Enable Inclusive Edition under "Host Security" in the instance details of Lighthouse to purchase and bind the Inclusive Edition license for the instance. Note: Due to billing adjustments, CWPP will discontinue the inclusive edition from November 30, 2023. Subsequent new purchases of the inclusive edition will no longer be supported. Existing inclusive edition orders can still be used and renewed. |

3.3 security protection settings
CWPP supports features such as intrusion detection, vulnerability management, baseline management, and advanced defense. It supports configuring each feature (e.g., antivirus settings, scheduled detection, allowlist settings, vulnerability ignore) as standards for detecting and determining security threats.
