除了科学，霍金留给我们的还有很多

3月14日，科学巨擘霍金在爱因斯坦的生辰日这天去世。

当大家都在朋友圈悼念（贰同学也发了纪念海报）的时候，金星老师的一条微博却把所有人都给怼了。

对于金星老师直言不讳的个性和人生选择的勇气，恭喜同学向来是很佩服的。

但就事论事，这条微博的说法，恭喜同学无法赞同。

作为一个文科生，对于霍金的研究和贡献，恭喜同学也仅是了解个表皮，但这并不妨碍我明白他是带领整个人类看到更深邃、更广大宇宙的人；何况即便连这一点都不了解，我们也知道他仅凭大脑（literally）就达到了四肢健全的常人远远无法企及的高度。

所以大概大多数人，并不是像金星老师说的凑蹭热点装文化人，而确是出于人之常情，对一位伟大人物的离世表示哀悼和遗憾。

对于这样一位必将像牛顿、爱因斯坦一样闪耀整个人类历史的人物，也许我们现在开始了解也不算太晚。

恭喜同学这次整理了霍金的一些名言，让我们从这些语言中，一起感受这位当之无愧“最强大脑”闪耀的智慧之光吧。

给残障人士的建议

My advice to other disabled people would be, concentrate on things your disability doesn't prevent you doing well, and don't regret the things it interferes with. Don't be disabled in spirit as well as physically.

我对残障人士的建议是：把关注力放在那些不受自身残障影响也能做好的事情上，也不要对那些被妨碍的事情太过遗憾。身体可以残疾，但别让精神也残了。

middle name 中间名

英美人的名字由first name（名）、middle name（中间名）和family name（姓）组成，比如Stephen William Hawking.

大部分情况，first name和我们的名字一样，源自父母对孩子的期望；middle name，则取自一些具有特殊意义的词，比如崇敬的长辈或名人的first name.

包含中间名的全名，一般只用于比较正式的场合或重要的法律文件中，日常生活里中间名一般不出现或仅以首字母大写出现。这就是为什么之前我们听到霍金的名字都是史蒂夫·霍金；而看很多电影里，英美人自我介绍时都只说名和姓。

另外，middle name可能不止一个单词，少数人有两个或是更多，比如乔治·布什George H.W. Bush. 上流社会家族用多个中间名的比较多见，但不代表普通人就只能用一个中间名哦。
