China attracts 60％ of global AI investment：report

Experts said the trade conflict with the US will have no effect on China’s development in AI technology, after an annual report released on Friday said China has become the most attractive country for investment and financing in AI technology, which accounts for 60 percent in the world.

继周五公布的报道表示中国已经成为最能吸引人工智能科技投资的国家后（占全球投资额60%），专家表示，中美贸易战不会影响中国人工智能科技的发展。

The report on China AI Development 2018 was released by Tsinghua University on Friday, which said from 2013 to the first quarter of 2018, the amount of investment and financing in AI technology in China accounts for 60 percent in the world, valued at $27 billion in 2017, Chinese news portal thepaper.com reported on Friday.

周五，中国新闻门户thepaper.com报道称，本周五清华大学公布的《2018中国人工智能发展报告》表明，2013年第一季度至2018年间，中国人工智能科技投资额占全球60%，2017年价值270亿美金。

AI is an emerging area for investors with substantial "hot" money in the Chinese financial market, Xiang Yang, an industry expert at Beijing-based CCID Consulting, told the Global Times on Friday.

周五，位于北京的CCID咨询公司工业专家杨翔告诉《环球时报》，人工智能是投资者关注的新兴领域，大量“热钱”涌入中国资本市场。

"Many emerging industries will enjoy an investment boom at the beginning, but when the boom subsides, investors will be more rational, and survivors will be very qualified. The quality of China’s AI will not suffer and will continue to attract more talent to return to China from the US," Wan said.

万说：“起初，很多新兴领域都会经历投资热潮，热潮退去后，投资者会越来越理性，幸存者都极有资质。中国人工智能的质量不会变差，并将持续吸引越来越多的人才从美国回到中国。”

The report also shows that China, by the end of 2017, had 18,232 AI technology research talents, or 8.9 percent of the world, and ranked just behind the US. The US accounts for 13.9 percent of the world’s AI talent.

报道还显示，截至2017年底，中国拥有18232名人工智能科技研究人才（全球8.9%），仅次于美国。美国人工智能人才占有率为13.9%。

But China tops the list in terms of the number of academic papers on AI and highly cited papers. The report shows that China’s proportion of academic papers on AI was 4.26 percent in 1997, but in 2017, it increased to 27.68 percent. In 2013, Chinese academic papers on AI has surpassed the US’ to become the most cited in the world.

但就人工智能学术论文和高引用论文而言，中国高居榜首。报告显示，中国人工智能领域的学术论文比例在1997年为4.26%，但在2017年，已经增长到了27.68%。2013年，中国人工智能学术论文已经超过美国，在世界上引用次数最高。
